What has to come out
Delray Beach attics in 33445 and 33446 often still have the original batts from the 1970s and 80s. If that fill is dry, removal is the wrong job. We air-seal and top it up to R-38.
It comes out when it is wet from a roof leak, stained with mold, or packed with droppings and nesting. Blowing new insulation over that just hides it. Kings Point, Villages of Oriole, and the older beach-side houses in 33444 are where we see this most.
How a removal day goes
Look
We open the hatch, check the depth, and say whether it stays or goes. Photos help before we roll a truck.
Protect
The house below gets covered. The hose and the bags stay on the path we agreed on.
Remove
The bad fill is vacuumed into bags and hauled off. The deck should be visible when we stop.
Next
Sanitizing, if the mess was rodents or contamination. Then air sealing and new insulation. Those are not folded into the removal price.
The price is its own number
Removal is priced from how much is up there, how dirty it is, and how hard the attic is to work in. A planning range for new blown-in is not a removal bid. After the deck is clear, attic sanitizing in Delray Beach is the step before new fill, when the old insulation was contaminated.
The install that follows is on the blown-in insulation in Delray Beach page. R-38, air-sealed first.

Removal questions
When do you remove insulation in Delray Beach?
When it is wet, moldy, rodent-damaged, or so ruined that a top-up would bury the problem. Dry, thin fill stays. We seal it and blow new insulation over it to R-38.
Is insulation removal included in a blown-in price?
No. Removal is its own price. The attic planner on this site is a planning range for new fill only. It does not include bagging out the old insulation.
How long does insulation removal take?
A typical single-family attic in Delray Beach is one day to remove, if access is normal. A second day is the new insulation, after the deck is clear. A packed or odd attic can take longer. We say so before we start.
Do you sanitize the attic after removal?
If the insulation came out because of rodents or contamination, sanitizing is the next step, not a substitute for taking the fill out. That is a separate page and a separate price.
